Active Prayer

Speaker: Rev. Joseph Stabile
When:June 14,2008

Join Rev. Joseph Stabile for an opportunity to explore and practice ACTIVE PRAYER. This prayer of the heart is available to us in the Christian practice of the Jesus Prayer. In its traditional form it reads:

“Lord Jesus Christ, Son of the Living God, have mercy on me, a sinner.”

This spiritual practice is one of the best ways to liberate us from habitual patterns of afflictive emotions, interior dialogue and obsessive thinking.

Faith: An Advent Companion

Speaker: Rev. Joseph Stabile
When:December 6, 2008

Advent 2008 can be a time of great anticipation as we await the coming of the Lord Jesus anew into our hearts at Christmas. Working with the teachings of Father Thomas Keating O.C.S.O. (Trappist), Rev. Stabile will lead us in a day of preparation to understand and accept what Fr. Keating calls “the three comings of Christ.” The first is His historical coming in human weakness and the manifestation of His divinity to the world; the second is His spiritual coming in our inmost being; the third is His final coming at the end of time in His glorified humanity.
