Thursdays at The Micah Center
10:00 am - 11:00 am / Practicing Silence and Prayer
11:00 am - Noon / Talking!, discussion, teaching, support
"All of humanity's problems stem from man's inability to sit quietly in a room alone."
"Be still, and know that I am God."
“The tools of the devil are: muchness, manyness, noise, crowds, and hurry.”
Silence is God’s first language
If being still and quiet is a tall task for you, you’re not alone. LTM recognizes this and wants to create a space for that to change, and for you to transform. To start, The Micah Center and specifically the chapel, will be available on Thursdays for you to come and pray, practice contemplative prayer, body scans, pray your prayer beads, or just sit and be still. Then take some time with others on a similar journey to talk and support each other.
Solitary work that cannot be done alone
No matter where you are on your path, if you’re starting with 10 minutes or an hour, LTM wants this to be a safe space for you to practice silence and stillness.
Over time, LTM will bring in teachers, spiritual directors, therapists, and others to help us as along the way.
