James Finley defines a Contemplative practice as: “any act habitually entered into with your whole heart that awakens, deepens and sustains within you a contemplative experience of the inherent holiness of the present moment.”
For years the church has encouraged people to practice classical spiritual disciplines without teaching us how. This is a practicing workshop intended to help participants discover and adopt some spiritual practices that will enable them to grow in their awareness of the presence of the Holy One in their lives, in the midst of the many everyday activities and obligations.
It is my hope that these disciplines will sustain us in our spiritual journey.
