Stress, Security, and The Speed of Life
“The great tragedy of speed as an answer to the complexities and responsibilities of existence is that very soon we cannot recognize anything or anyone who is not traveling at the same velocity as we are. We see only those moving in the same whirling orbit and only those moving with the same urgency. Soon we begin to suffer a form of amnesia, caused by the blurred vision of velocity itself, where those germane to our humanity are dropped from our minds one by one”
- David Whyte
Our world is increasingly encouraging us to move faster and faster, which has the potential to make us more reactive and less responsive. As we integrate traditional Enneagram wisdom, we recognize that without intentionality and focus on pace of life, we will not be able to fully access all that our stress and security movements have to offer us. Thus, nullifying one of the greatest gifts that enneagram work has to offer.
Change is inevitable. Transformation is desirable. Enneagram wisdom helps us to embrace the first and allow the second. The Enneagram is deceptively simple and its applications are seemingly unending. Enneagram Boot Camp participants enjoy the opportunity to collectively apply Enneagram wisdom to their daily lives and relationships. This hallmark event each summer seeks to offer new ways of applying Enneagram wisdom to a variety of subjects as Master Enneagram Teacher, Suzanne Stabile, presents her latest Enneagram work. Recent years topics have included discernment, grieving, self-care, family systems, and relationships.
Enneagram Boot Camp is advanced Enneagram teaching. It is recommended that participants have a solid grasp on basic Enneagram wisdom including a thorough knowledge of their own Enneagram number. Familiarity with Enneagram Triads and Stances is highly encouraged.
